Sojhla for Social Change

Peace & Human Security

The violence-prone extremist behavior, which is more prevalent in Pakistan, has several socio political reasons where illiteracy, feudalism, religious extremism and inadequate income generation sources (structural violence) play a complex but central role to manifest as violent behavior. Sojhla has been taking initiatives to improve the literacy rate in the area and to make the citizenship active by engaging the common citizens in the processes of provision of social services.

Sojhla has a commitment to bring to the forefront the voices of women and men from the marginalized, the underprivileged and the excluded sections of the society. The consultation process that we carried out in the scoping phase of our advocacy campaign has had special focus on women, youth and religious minorities. The same focus will continue in future interventions.
