Sojhla for Social Change is facilitating those rural communities which are powerless to represent their issues at decision making level through forming their group, running media campaigns on their social and political issues, developing information documentaries and organizing social theaters etc. Sojhla is also working for empowerment and confident demonstration of local culture inherited by respective folk and land. Sojhla aims to promote local wisdom of the saints and mystics who led their lives for the sole origin of cementing friendly relations between humankind irrespective of caste, creed, faith and dogma.
“Sojhla” is a Siraiki word that means “Dawn”. In reference to its name, the main thrust of Sojhla is to raise the consciousness of general public regarding social issues confronting them, using theatre as an effective tool. The history of this organization tells that it was established in 2002 as a theater group by few passionate volunteers who were working in different organizations.
